January 15th, 2008 - Isobel is One
In what seems like only about a year, Isobel has turned one year old, amazing! Her birthday celebrations involved celebration in Tasmania on new year’s day, testing out the new family barbecue in Melbourne two days before her birthday, and a nice day at home with her mother and brother on her actual birthday, January 15th. I think she had a great time at all of them, more proof of that is in the gallery.
January 15th, 2008 - Christmas 2007
Wow, seems like only a few posts ago and it was Christmas 2006 (oh hey, it was only a few posts ago).
This year’s Christmas was in Carrick, Tasmania, and everyone had a lovely time. Elliott went from being petrified of the pool to not wanting to get out, and Isobel did her best at exploring most of the house before somebody caught her. As per usual the catering of the whole time there was second-to-none. This year we switched from Martha Stewart’s turkey to Jamie Oliver’s, and it would be hard to pick a winner out of them.
I thought I would include a few photos which capture the time down there, with many more in the gallery

October 1st, 2007 - New Camera!
The old 3.2 megapixel Canon A70 just wasn’t cutting it any more, so the upgrade to the 10.1 megapixel Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR has finally come! We haven’t played with it much, but we can certainly say that the auto mode alone has left our jaws dropping so far. Lets let the pictures speak for themselves, and a number more can be found in the gallery.
July 15th, 2007 - Finally an update!
Its been quite a while since I updated and we have had a few major occasions since then, with some great photos. Mother’s Day, Elliott’s third birthday and Isobel just turned sixth months today. One of the main reasons for the delay was a major audit, renaming, and tagging of ALL of our photos. Thankfully I automated a lot of the renaming, but the tagging is still taking a while. I have tagged our first two to three years of photos and some of the latest ones, but still have a fair few to do. I am extremely glad I did it though, tagging makes the photos so much more easily searchable, and works really well in programs such as Picasa and Adobe Album, not to mention our online gallery. The photo updates can be found here:
And here are some examples of what is contained in them.

May 16th, 2007 - What? We have a camera?
Yes, updates have been a bit slow, but I have put up a number of photos of Elliott and Isobel in the gallery now. I also added photos from our trip to Carrick over Easter. Some really nice photos in the bunch, including some taken from my new Nokia N95 phone, which has a 5mp camera in it. The camera is great in natural light, and even comes with a ‘flash’, which is is fine for a camera phone, but really doesn’t do too great a job compared to a true flash on a traditional camera.
March 4th, 2007 - More photos of Isobel and Elliott
Isobel has cruised along to seven weeks old now. She seems extremely strong for her age and we are quite surprised by her head control. Quite a number people have heard her say ‘hello’ now too.
Two children seems a lot more work than just two times one child, if that makes any sense. Which explains the recent photo drought. Hopefully we can keep up the pace now that things are (just) starting to settle a bit.
The new photos can be found here, with some photos from Grandad Mayer as well.
January 17th, 2007 - Isobel photos.
Well lack of sleep and blackouts slowed us down, but we finally have some photos of Isobel up here.
January 15th, 2007 - Isobel arrives!
Well, she left us hanging a while, but Isobel Wendie Keeling-Mayer arrived at 3:41am on January 15th 2007. She weighted in at a (apparently) quite large 4.374 kgs. Mum and daughter are doing great, and Dad isn’t bad either. Big brother Elliott was very excited to get the chance to meet his new little sister.
Isobel’s silly daddy left the camera at the hospital, so photos will be coming in the next couple of days.
January 14th, 2007 - Waiting…
Well, Keeling-Mayer baby number two seems to be happy where it is right now, and we have hit 10 days overdue. Who knows when it is going to make an appearance. Baby and mother appear very well from all signs, so all we can do right now is wait. Elliott seems to be getting genuinely excited about seeing his new brother or sister too. He has been lovely to it so far, and seems ready to share with it, which is nice. I guess we will see how that all pans out when the reality of the baby hits him
December 26th, 2006 - Christmas 2006!
Christmas in Melbourne was a lovely day, even through the rain hail, and in some places snow!
Seems like we were quite busy throughout the day and didnt take a lot of photos, but some can be found here.
